Bob at blue ribbon flooring is the man! Great customer service and professional. He was able to start our floors within a week of me choosing him for my floors. Anytime I had a question I would text him and he would reply very quickly. He is very knowledgeable about what he does. He kept me in the loop with phones calls. His employees were respectful and courteous to my home. They never left a mess, they made sure my front and back door was locked everyday without me having to remind them. On top of that my floors look amazing!

We cannot say enough good things about Blue Ribbon Flooring. They showed up on the day they said and were even early. The communication about what to expect was clear and the floors are really beautiful., exceeded our expectations. We have some original 1949 floors that had not had anything done to them at all and they look brand new. And I was shocked at how little dust was generated with all the sanding, I expected much worse. I would have Bob and his crew do work for me again with no hesitation. The crew did very difficult and backbreaking work with a good attitude and incredible competence. Great company.

Blue Ribbon employees did an outstanding job and I am really impressed with the results, which are beyond my expectations. My hardwood floor had lots of dog scratches, and after it was treated by Blue Ribbon, it looks like brand new. Bob was very professional, pleasant and explained everything very well. I felt so comfortable in the whole process, as I exactly knew what was happening. I would highly recommend Bob and Blue Ribbon, and would trust them without reservation with my future projects. Highly pleased with their work and my floor.

Talk to the hardwood flooring installation on our team about the pros and cons of every type of wood. We offer a wide variety of unique installation methods that can truly make your home stand out.

How long should the wood sit and acclimate in my house before I install it? Do I really have to do this?

Most estimates say to have newly manufactured wood acclimate for about 3 days, but this can depend on the moisture content of the wood and your home. In some cases, wood preparation can occur offsite at a similarly acclimated location. Be sure to discuss this option with your contractor.

Can we put hardwood flooring over an existing floor?

In some situations an engineered wood floor can be floated (or glued down) over the top of an existing floor. The existing flooring has to be fully adhered to the sub-floor and be compressed enough so there is no bounce. Be sure to read the manufacturer’s warranty to see if installing over an existing floor covering is covered under the warranty.

Is it safe to use hardwood flooring in a kitchen?

We suggest you exercise caution and get an extra coat of sealant in kitchens. A kitchen is prone to food and liquid spills which can raise the wood’s grain or permanently stain or damage a hardwood floors finish. Be sure to wipe up spills immediately and use a gentle floor cleaner when cleaning up.

What is the most durable hardwood floor available?

Most hardwood floors are treated with up to 10 coats of an aluminum oxide finish. This can help give softer species of wood a more long lasting durability. You should think about the style and color of your wood first and leave durability to be a secondary factor. We can help decide what kind of strength your wood will need depending on your home or business.
